27/113 Election of Chair of the Committee for 2026/2027
Cllr Adshead proposed Cllr Daniels be elected as chair of the committee seconded by Cllr Drabble. Resolved: Cllr Daniels is elected a Chair of the Community, Communications and New Projects Committee.
27/114 Election of Vice Chair of the Committee for 2026/2027
It was decided to defer this item until the next meeting.
27/115 Apologies for Absence
Apologies were received from Cllrs: M. Chantler & N. Hill
Resolved: To accept apologies.
27/116 Declarations of Interest
Cllr Daniels declared an interest in agenda item 27/121 as a local business owner
27/117 Exclusion of Press and Public
It was RESOLVED that no items of business required the exclusion of the press and public under the Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings) Act 1960.
27/118 Variations to Order of Business
It was agreed to move agenda item 27/122 to follow agenda item 27/119 to allow the member of the public to speak regarding item 27/122 before councillors discuss the matter.
27/119 Public Participation
One member of the public attended to speak on issues regarding objects and vehicles parked on pavements within the Town blocking access for disabled people and people using prams. It was requested the Parish Council consider supporting the campaign from Living Streets Charity by raising awareness of the issue.
27/122 To consider whether the Council wishes to support the charity Living Streets.
Members considered the motion to support the Living Street Charity.
Resolved:
That the Council investigate the possibility of installing yellow lines at areas of concern (Schools).
The awareness of the issue be raised using the Councils noticeboards, newsletter, website and social media.
The issue be discussed and highlighted to the local police during the Council’s walkabout the Town on 27th July 2026.
27/120 To consider the draft Terms of Reference
Resolved: Members agreed to make alterations and report the proposals at the next meeting.
27/121 Motion from Cllr Adshead – Contribution towards the Main Street Christmas Trees
Resolved: Members agreed to defer this item until the next meeting.
27/123 To consider purchasing bleed kits for the War Memorial Park and Market Place
Members considered and supported the proposal. Resolved:
That the Assistant Clerk obtain costs and investigate and identify any grant funding.
27/124 Printing of tourism leaflets
The Assistant Clerk reported a grant application had been made to HPBC Towns and Villages Regeneration Fund to help fund the printing of 10,000 Chapel-en-le-Frith tourism leaflets.
27/125 Motion from Cllr Adshead – Review of Parish noticeboards
Members were presented with photographs of all the parish noticeboards showing their current state fo repair.
Resolved:
That Dove Holes noticeboard be removed as soon as possible due to its poor state of repair.
Contact be made with the Dove Holes Community Association to discuss an alternative site for the noticeboard as its current site is not suitable for health and safety reasons.
Costs be obtained to replace all the noticeboards in the parish for low maintenance noticeboards similar to the ones located in the War Memorial Park for standardisation.
27/126 Motion from Cllr Adshead – Purchase of football nets for Dove Holes football field
Members considered and supported the motion
Resolved: Costs are to be obtained and budget identified and reported at the next meeting.
