The next meeting of the Parish Council, to be held at 7.00pm on Tuesday 9th September 2025 in Chapel-en-le-Frith Town Hall

AGENDA The business to be transacted will be as follows:
1. 7pm - To receive any apologies for absence
2. To make any Declarations of Interest
3. To consider any applications for Dispensations
4. To determine which items, if any, from the agenda should be taken with the public excluded. If the Parish Council decides to exclude the public, it will be necessary to pass a resolution in the following terms: “to consider a resolution under the Public Bodies (Admission to Meetings Act 1960) s1 to exclude members of the press and public in order to discuss item number ...” This item will then be discussed with the press and public excluded.'

25/403 Standardisation of the flower beds in Derbyshire stone including plaque acknowledging the bequest
26/018 Completion of Councillor Skills Audit 26/089 Response from DCC regarding HGVs using inappropriate roads to avoid road closures
26/150 Confirmation of Market Place railings ownership/responsibility
26/204 Motion from Councillor Adshead that the Council progresses the cleaning of the Dove Holes War Memorial quickly in the hope we can get it done before Remembrance Sunday this year. It was agreed to defer this motion to the September meeting.
26/206 Motion from Councillor Adshead that when any Councillor wishes to propose a motion, he should/can use the lectern purchased for such things. It was agreed to defer this motion to the September meeting.

16. 8.05pm - Consideration of request raised at the Annual Parish Meeting from resident that the Parish Council supports a call for the National Park to be extended to take over the industrially developed areas along the A6 and A515 corridors. This area is about 1 to 2 miles wide, and almost 15 miles in length, starting in the Disley/New Mills area, and terminating near Flagg.
17. 8.15pm - Motion from Councillor Adshead - That the Council agrees to investigate the possibility of putting on a show over Christmas or New Year for the Parish using Live & Local.
18. 8.20pm - Motion from Councillor Adshead - That the Council considers procuring 20 tickets to the next Chapel Players Production and then raffles them off for a £1 each.
19. 8.25pm - Motion from Councillor Adshead – That the Council considers issuing branded workwear for all members of Staff so that people in the Town know who they are.
20. 8.30pm - Motion from Councillor Adshead - That the Councils renews all out-of-date DBS Checks for staff and Councillors.
21. 8.35pm - Motion from Councillor Adshead – That the Parish Council (a) invites residents who painted stones to create the covid snake, to return and “touch up” their artwork, keeping the community involvement alive; or employs a local artist to do so. (b) arranges for the stones to be sealed (if not already) with clear resin/weatherproof coating to protect them for the future. (c) puts a plaque up acknowledging why, when and the story behind it. (d) constructs a low wall using local Derbyshire stone around the sandpit area, to hide the exposed concrete base and improve the overall appearance. (e) removes the picnic table as previously agreed at the Regeneration & Communications Committee. (f) Fills the gaps in the hedge, including reinstating the archway. (g) tidy up the area by the wall and ensure it is left neat and attractive
22. 8.40pm – Discussion item from Councillor Adshead. As Chapel-en-le-Frith grows, so do our neighbouring Towns and Villages this bringing increasing incidents of ASBO and other Crimes. A privately funded joint operation with those neighbours may be a workaround that might help ease the ever-increasing burden of cuts imposed nationally.
23. 8.45pm – To consider discontinuing the Ukrainian website due to low traffic.
24. 8.50pm - Correspondence for Action – Email from District Councillor Sally De Pee regarding setting up a Community Speed Watch Letter from the Hon Treasurer of St Thomas Beckett Church requesting financial support for its churchyard.
25. 9.05pm - To agree any matters arising from the Court Case.
